Template — not legal advice

This page is a starting template. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and it is not legal advice. Fill in every marked placeholder and have it checked before you take payments.

Who these terms are with

Typist is provided by [PLACEHOLDER: Developer or company legal name] (“we”, “us”). By installing the extension or using this site, you agree to these terms.

What the service is

Typist is a Chrome side panel that enters text you supply into a field you choose on a page, at a pace you set. It is intended for accessibility, demonstrations, and deliberate paced text entry.

Your account

You need a Google account to sign in, and typing requires being signed in. Keep your account secure; you are responsible for what happens under it. One account is for one person.

Acceptable use

Use Typist only where you have the right to enter the text you are entering. You agree not to use it to impersonate another person, to submit work as someone else's, to break the rules or terms of a site you are using, or to do anything unlawful. We may suspend or close an account that is used this way.

You also agree not to resell the service, to work around the plan limits, or to interfere with the service's operation.

Plans, pricing, and changes

The Free plan allows 300 words a day and 3 synced snippets. Pro is $4.99 per month and removes both limits while the subscription is active. Payment is handled by Stripe, and the price shown at checkout is the one that applies.

We may change the price or what a plan includes. If we do, we will give you [PLACEHOLDER: Notice period for price or plan changes, e.g. 30 days] notice before the change affects an existing subscription, and you may cancel before it takes effect. Billing, cancellation, and refunds are covered on the refunds page.

Availability

We do our best to keep Typist working but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we may take the service down for maintenance.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using Typist at any time by cancelling any subscription and uninstalling the extension. We may end your access if you break these terms, or with [PLACEHOLDER: Notice period for discontinuing the service, e.g. 30 days] notice if we discontinue the service. If we end a paid subscription for a reason that is not your breach of these terms, we will refund the unused part of the current period.

Your content

The text you type and the snippets you save remain yours. You give us permission only to store and transmit the snippets you save, for the purpose of syncing them to your devices. See the privacy policy.

Disclaimer and liability

Typist is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to [PLACEHOLDER: Liability cap, e.g. the amount you paid us in the past 12 months]. Nothing here limits rights that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [PLACEHOLDER: Governing law, e.g. the State of X, USA], and disputes will be handled in the courts of [PLACEHOLDER: Courts and venue for disputes].
